Call for Experts – New European Bauhaus Prizes 2026 The European Commission has launched a call for experts to support the evaluation process of the New European Bauhaus Prizes 2026. Experts will contribute to the assessment of applications that highlight innovative approaches combining sustainability, aesthetics and inclusion, in line with the core values of the New European Bauhaus. EU Agenda for Cities: Driving Growth and Prosperity The new EU Agenda for Cities provides a strategic framework to help cities tackle today’s major challenges — from affordable housing to climate action and digitalisation. It also recognises the essential role cities play in Europe’s future: • 75% of Europeans live in cities, towns or suburbs • 90% need a 30+ year mortgage for a 75 m² apartment • Cities implement around 70% of EU legislation The Agenda focuses on key priorities such as housing, clean energy, mobility, social inclusion, competitiveness and security. It also strengthens support tools for cities, including: • yearly political dialogue and regular State of European Cities reports • a new EU Cities Platform from 2028–2034 • a ‘Cities helpdesk’ under the European Urban Initiative from 2026 Cities remain central to delivering EU priorities — backed by €100 billion from #CohesionPolicy for urban projects in 2021–2027, including €24 billion managed directly by cities. #EUAgenda4Cities
