This API has been available on macOS for a long time, but was explicitly excluded due to unspecified problems with the API in ancient versions of macOS.

Marked as DO-NOT-MERGE because I want to merge a PR first that documents that the API is not available (to be back ported to 3.11 and 3.12), then update the documentation with a version changed attribute noting that the API is available on macOS starting 3.13. |
