AT&T is going to end its DEI programs.

The company follows T-Mobile and Verizon in doing so. AT&T plans to buy just over $1 billion of wireless spectrum licenses from US Cellular but needs approval from the FCC, according to Reuters.

Why else would you call?

One of Google’s new Android updates is the beta for Call Reason, which allows callers to flag that it’s urgent. Sounds smart, but if you’re below the age of 40, “urgent” might be the only type of call you ever make.

Sorry but if literally anyone I know is calling me instead of texting, it’s already urgent.

So that’s what the third screen is for.

Wondering how to use the extra screen space in Samsung’s new Galaxy Z TriFold? Don’t worry, we’ve got it figured out.

Vapor vs. Zoom.

The latest ads featuring Apple and Google’s mobile flagships could combine for a Nike football cleat and appeared within hours of each other today, before likely going into rotation over the holiday.

The Honor 500 looks Air-y familiar.

In Honor’s defense, the China-only 500 and 500 Pro aren’t especially thin phones, so they’re not cribbing on the iPhone Air in that sense. But that camera module has certainly been copying some of Apple’s homework.

Robot Phone in real life.

When Honor first revealed its outlandishly named Robot Phone — really a smartphone with a flip-out DJI Osmo Pocket-esque camera arm built into the back — it was only in a slick CGI video. Now it’s shown off prototype hardware at its Honor User Carnival in China, suggesting this concept is one step closer to reality.

Faster AT&T 5G.

American Telephone & Telegraph says it has deployed the $23 billion worth of mid-band spectrum it acquired from EchoStar to nearly 23,000 cell sites in the continental US, which is now boosting 5G download speeds “by up to 80 percent.” Ya’ll seeing a difference?

We’re just trying to give you what you want.

Years of irate comments have hammered home that not all our readers want us to cover politics. And hey, I’m just a humble phone reviewer, so I should stick to what I know. Now, let’s see if there are any new players in the phone industry this year...
